About Three Paws Pet Supply

Located at the South Waterfront in the Emery Building in Portland, Oregon

Three Paws is the most recent addition to Nancy’s ever growing family of independently owned, neighborhood driven, pet supply stores. Three Paws Neighborhood Pet Supply is located in the Emery Building on SW Moody. Located centrally in the South Waterfront Neighborhood, adjacent to OHSU, and offering concierge delivery service to surrounding areas, Three Paws is designed to serve the increasingly fast paced lifestyle of the metropolitan Portland area.

Owner Nancy Fedelem has three stores; Saltys, Fang & Feather and now Three Paws, all thriving businesses, earning a loyal customer base that appreciates the expert advice and varied selection of top-quality food and products. The personal service and attention that the store’s team gives their customers ensures the very best recommendations for each individual pet’s needs. Three Paws is proud to be an integral part of the thriving South Waterfront neighborhood.

Nancy is deeply committed to giving back to the community that her stores serve. Over the years, her stores have partnered with numerous local rescue organizations, providing space for outreach, hosting pet food drives, donating food and supplies, and making monetary contributions. The many groups supported include: Multnomah County Animal Services, The Pixie Project, Panda Paws Rescue, Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary, Underdog Railroad Rescue, PAWS Team, Fences for Fido, Strut Your Mutt, Family Dogs New Life Shelter and Newberg Animal Shelter.

It is probably no surprise to anyone that Nancy loves animals, but what you may not know is that her love for dogs was not immediate. Her first pets were cats, including Rosie, who lived a long and happy life of 19 years, and James, a street kitten who followed her home one night and now lives the good life. But it was the Rottweiler/Lab mix named Monk Nancy’s husband adopted just five days after their wedding who changed everything. Monk made Nancy a dog lover, growing her love for animals and eventually leading her to run her own pet supply store.

As the owner of Saltys, Fang and Three Paws, Nancy is involved in every detail of running the stores, but her favorite part of the job is helping customers find the best food, treats and toys to give their pets a great life. Nancy lives just a few blocks from Salty’s with her husband and family of now four dogs and one cat.

From Nancy’s dog, Parker:

My full name is Parker J. Bearington, and I am a Border Collie/Lab mix…I think. Before my owners adopted me, I was a street dog in Panama and was rescued after being hit by a car. The fact that I lost my leg in the accident doesn’t phase me. I get around just like any other dog. I am very loving but also demanding and a big ham for attention. No one can resist my soft ears and sweet, warm brown eyes.

I love visiting the store with my mom where I am the official manager of the treats table, making sure all of them are delicious enough for our discriminating doggy customers. I am paid in belly rubs.

Alex Chiprenez

Receiving Specialist, AlexGrowing up Alex always had pets ranging from turtles, fish, cats, dogs, an iguana, a rabbit and a duck. “I have always loved being around animals and learning more about them,” adds Alex. These unique animals prepared Alex for his role at Three Paws Pet Supply! Fast forward to today – as Manager, he researches products and brands the store carries for a wide range of customers.

Delighting Customers is What He Does Best

Since January of 2017, Alex has been curating products that can potentially improve a pet’s quality of life. “I only feel comfortable offering a product I would use for my pet. I listen carefully to customers, making sure we meet their pet’s needs. Helping and improving a pet’s life is my main goal.”

A perfect day at Three Paws Pet Supply?

His definition of a perfect day is when a customer comes in thanking him for helping them with a problem their pet was having. “This is one of the main reasons I love working here. I get to make a difference in the health and life of our furry friends.”

Alex hopes to adopt a pair of furry friends soon. Perhaps two cat buddies, or a cat and dog team.
